STATE DEPARTMENT OPENS EMERGING TECH OFFICE: The State Department has launched a new office devoted to establishing cooperation between nations that are developing new technologies as a response to increasing efforts worldwide to lead the development of innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum information. HOUSE ESTABLISHES COMMITTEE ON CHINA: The House voted to establish a special committee on China, with Rep. Mike Gallagher tapped to lead the committee. The committee is intended to address China’s military modernization and the US defense-industrial base’s dependence on China. Learn more HERE.
WEST STRUGGLES TO DELIVER ANTI-DRONE TECH TO UKRAINE: The US is struggling to supply effective counter-drone systems to Ukraine to counter Russia’s Iranian Shahed-136 drones, which are currently being shot down with expensive missiles, antiaircraft guns, and manpads.
