Asylon Robotics
Enabling integrated security solutions through robotics
Decisive Point is thrilled to announce its investment in Asylon, Inc., an early-stage manufacturer of the infrastructure and software used to automate the deployment and operation of autonomous systems.
The current offerings of full-service perimeter security operations are antiquated, time-consuming, and costly, with deployable software systems and robotics unable to integrate with one another to provide comprehensive, controllable real-time security and analysis.
Asylon designs, engineers, and manufactures the DroneCore system, which is an open architecture that can autonomously execute pre-programmed patrol missions, respond to alarm triggers, and remotely control systems for the execution of ad-hoc missions. Asylon’s technology provides clients with mission-essential capabilities that meet the quality standards demanded by Pentagon and commercial customers.
Applications in defense
Decisive Point has been a strategic partner to Asylon and its leadership for the past two years, helping the Asylon team secure meaningful traction in the Department of Defense. The company’s DroneCore commercial product is technically mature, with sales to a number of Fortune 100 customers including the Ford Motor Company, FedEx, as well as Barrick Gold and Verizon. They are currently part of two separate FAA pilot programs focused on the regulatory analysis of the use of commercial drones beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) and multiple UAS operations.
In the defense market, Asylon is currently working with the Integrated Base Defense Security System (IBDSS) Modernization program Office at the Hanscom Air Force Base to realize the benefits of autonomous base security systems. They are currently performing on two prototyping contracts which are focused on demonstrating Asylon’s value specific to the DoD’s base security requirements and transition into long-term programs of record within the DoD.
